Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

How do I know which package I need?

Answer
All of our packages are designed to work to suit all different styles of projects for all ranges of budgets. If you need any help choosing the best package for you, just get in touch and we can find your best suited fit and/or a custom quote to suit your needs!

Question 2

There's something in a higher package which I would like to add?

Answer

Most of our packages are designed to be flexible to best suit the clients needs. If there is a service from an alternative package, we're happy to discuss the best options for you or create a custom quote to better suit your needs. All packages can be upgraded into multiple rooms packages. Please contact us for a custom quote.

Question 3

I need my project done faster than your standard turnaround, are you able to do it?

Answer
As much as we love being able to please all of our client's wishes, with the nature of design, timelines, both within and out of the designer's control, it's not always possible to meet requested deadlines. The best designs do take time, and we pride ourselves on offering a high standard of finish to all our projects.

Question 4

Why do I have to pay before I receive my work?

Answer

Paying a deposit in most service based businesses is customary to protect both the client and the designer to ensure a high standard of work. A deposit allows a designer to compensate for the work needed to put into a project, while also protecting the client to ensure that full payment is complete only when you are happy with the final service.

Question 5

I've found a cheaper designer, can you price match on a project?

Answer

Though we are always happy to discuss a package option that can best suit your individual budget whilst meeting your expectations, we've based the rates on our experience, contacts and a price that we find competitive in this market. For a long term investment, it is best to consider every option before making a final decision.

Question 6

For whom is E-Design the right choice?

Answer
This service is for you if you value the affordability of E-Design and also value the benefits of working with an interior designer. You would like to take a more "DIY" approach to the design of your space as well as complete your project on your own timeline. You are an active member of the project team. It is you who will be measuring your living space and providing before photos & videos. It is also you who will be purchasing, accepting delivery of and setting up all furnishings. If painting is involved, you will either be doing it yourself or hiring your own painter. If any construction is to be performed, you will need to have your E-Design “concept” plans translated by an architect or contractor, acquire any permits, and hire your own contractor.  So, if you’re not afraid of a little DIY, then E-Design is for you!

Question 7

What limitations does E-Design have?

Answer
With E-design, we rely heavily on our client’s ability to collaborate. This includes but not limited to giving proper measurements and pictures, effectively communicating in a timely manner with your designer. In addition, our floor plans and renderings are for conceptual purposes only and are not to be used as a replacement for construction and/or architectural plans. Hiring and working with contractors is done separate of the scope of work associated with E-design projects. We recommend hiring a licensed electrician (for lighting installations) or handyman to hang items that may need to be anchored into the wall.

Question 8

How long will it take to get my room E-design?

Answer
You will receive your E-Design Presentation Package via email approximately within (1-3) weeks from our receipt of all needed items (questionnaire, payment, room sizes, photos). All digital boards will be emailed in a PDF downloadable and printable file.

Question 9

How can we re-design your space without seeing it or meeting you personally?

Answer
The advances of technology over the last decade have made things very possible for interior designers to work with clients over the internet.  Times are changing and so is the way interior design is performed.  To allow Libelle Design to accurately understand your space, needs and the look you want to achieve, we will ask that you complete a client questionnaire, provide us a rough sketch of the room measurements and photos.  We welcome inspirational photos you’ve found online as well.  The more info you send the better we get to know you and your style preferences.

Question 10

If I have an open floor plan and two rooms are combined, which room do I select first?

Answer
In this case, we strongly suggest you purchase a design plan for both spaces. Spaces which open into one another tend to feel like a single space, and it’s not possible to truly transform the look without taking into consideration everything your eye sees in its single view.

Question 11

Can some of my existing furniture pieces be incorporated in the design plan?

Answer
Absolutely! Our earnest desire to incorporate your own purchases and special finds is a hallmark of the approach to providing personalized unique interior makeovers.

Question 12

What happens if I wait to purchase an item, and then it’s no longer available?

Answer
If something becomes discontinued you can always shop for a similar item but we recommend that before purchasing our service, you wait until you are financially and practically ready to implement a design change. The world of manufactured goods is a rapidly changing one, and there are no guarantees that the item specified today will be available six months from now.

Question 13

Will I be able to purchase the items directly?

Answer
Yes! A number of home furnishing retailers (West Elm, CB2, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Pier One) have established an online presence, enabling us to provide you with a shopping list full of items which you can purchase on your own.

Question 14

Do you work within the budget given to spend on the plan you’ve designed?

Answer
Absolutely! We can work within just about any budget. That said, our ability to create a dramatic transformation will be determined by what you’ve set aside for the project.  Of course, if you want items from designer vendors only, expect to spend a little more, and alternatively, if you want items from retail vendors only, expect to spend a little less. No matter your budget, your plan may include items such as a new rug, piece(s) of upholstery, occasional tables, lighting, window treatments and wall décor.

Question 15

What Forms of payment do you accept?

Answer
Libelle Design currently only accepts payment via e-transfer.
